Three-day course given by ERT BV in Deventer

Target group

This course is at a level suitable for buyers and sellers of rubber products, laboratory employees, constructors, designers, maintenance engineers etc. No special education, nor knowledge of rubber technology, is required to participate in this course.


To provide more insight into the properties of rubber and to test these properties.


This course is given in Dutch and, if there is sufficient interest, in English.


  • Characteristic properties of rubber compared to other materials.
  • Preparation of test compounds and test pieces.
  • Rheological properties (Mooney, MDR, RPA).
  • Standard test conditions and preferred conditions.
  • Physical properties (density, hardness, tensile strength, tear strength, compression set).
  • Dynamic properties (rebound, DMTA, HBU).
  • Fatigue tests (DeMattia, fatigue-to-failure).
  • Wear, chip-and-chunk.
  • Ageing (ozone, hot-air, steam, fluids).
  • Adhesion to hard materials and textiles. Electrical properties

Up to two weeks before the start of the course, cancellations can be made free of charge. The course will take place if a minimum number of 10 participants has been registered. If this minimum number is not reached then ERT B.V. has the right to cancel the course.
