Failure analysis of rubber products

ERT is the right partner for failure analysis

If a rubber product has failed, the cause can often be discovered. For instance, cracking, swelling, shrinkage or hardening are common causes. In addition to failure analysis, ERT gives advice on how the problem can be prevented in the future.

Fingerprints

Batch-to-batch variation of rubber materials can be determined by regular mechanical analysis, i.e. 'the fingerprint'. In doing so, a combination of properties of the product is determined to give a good impression of both the variation in material composition (FTIR, TGA and density) and degree of vulcanization (compression set and hardness). 

Having these properties periodically determined can point out any non-compliances and prevent future problems. These fingerprints therefore give you more influence on the quality of your product.
